Despite the restrictions surrounding businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic, SETsquared Surrey’s newest ad tech member Real Media Now has found success. Following a recent round of investment, the company has rolled out its new platform and won several new customers.
The company has developed its beta platform which provides incentive-based advertising capabilities for app gaming companies. Real Media Now enables gaming apps to show ad content to drive user engagement – often by helping players move to a new level, gain a reward or get a hint – which solves two of the biggest problems that gaming apps face: monetisation and user retention.
A beta version of the platform has launched during lockdown and three customers have already signed up, including Play Well For Life, a fellow SETsquared Surrey member that has developed a mobile game to help improve individuals’ mental health.
Real Media Now’s beta launch follows a highly successful round of funding for the company at the end of 2019, where the team secured funding from several angel investors in the Surrey/Hampshire area. On top of this, Real Media Now has received investment from founders of previous gaming sector competitor Vungle which sold for $800 million last year. Investors were impressed with the team’s innovative single solution approach to solving multiple key issues that app gaming companies face.
In addition to finding new customers at the SETsquared Surrey, Real Media Now has benefited from the support from Entrepreneurs in Residence since joining the centre at the end of last year.
“I would definitely recommend SETsquared Surrey to any entrepreneur, as it fills the skill gaps that you need to address to be successful,” said Dan Anahory, co-founder of Real Media Now. “Despite COVID-19, 2020 has been a positive year for us so far. We’re currently focused on servicing our customers to as high a standard as possible and expanding the team to maintain this high standard. Looking ahead, we’re planning to continue building our customer pipeline and expand internationally.”
